The fourth week of July is fast approaching and with it comes the Cooper County Fair.Youth all over the county are working furiously on their projects to ensure they are ready for exhibition at this year’s event which is themed with Building Traditions.Non-livestock projects will be brought to the fairgrounds on Monday evening July 22 for judging and possible selection to represent Cooper County at the State Fair in August.
With the August Primary fast approaching, campaigning for public office is in full swing.
The Doppler radar atop the water tower in town is officially up and running.On Tuesday, Climavision held a plaque presentation to officially launch the new Doppler radar that was installed on the water tower next to the former Cooper County Memorial Hospital back in March.Larry Oerly with Cooper County Emergency Management welcomed Tara Goode from Climavision.
Happening each year on the fourth weekend in August, the Missouri River Festival of the Arts is the oldest performing arts festival in the state of Missouri and is held in the oldest theater in continuous use west of the Allegheny Mountains, Thespian Hall.
