The Boonville Pirates sixth grade basketball team finished 1-1 over the weekend while competing in the Hallsville Youth Basketball League in Ashland.
The Pirates beat Linn by a score of 59-14 but then lost a close game against Eugene 37-32.
In the game against Linn, the Pirates led 26-10 at the half and 41-14 after three quarters of play. Boonville also outscored Linn 18-0 in the final period.
Traveon Coleman led three players in double figures for Boonville with 14 points along with four rebounds and three assists.
Jamesian McKee finished the game with 12 points and five rebounds while Memphis Waibel added 10 points and one rebound, DeWan Lomax eight points, six rebounds and one assist, De’Andre Wesolak seven points and six rebounds, Luke Green two points and two rebounds, Austin Coleman two points, one rebound and one assist and Chandler Stonecipher and Zane Watring each with two points and one rebound.
In the game against Eugene, Boonville trailed 15-14 at the half and 23-21 after three quarters of play. Meanwhile, in the final period, Eugene outscored Boonville 15-11 for the victory.
De’Andre Wesolak had nine points and five rebounds in the game for Boonville. Jamesian McKee chipped in seven points, seven rebounds and one assist while Traveon Coleman added six points, three rebounds and two assists, Austin Coleman four points and one assist, Luke Green three points and three rebounds, Memphis Waibel three points and one assist, DeWan Lomax four rebounds and Chandler Stonecipher with three rebounds.
