Beginning July 1 of next year, Dr. Sarah Marriott will take on the role of Assistant Superintendent of Special Services. This approval was unanimously accepted by the Boonville R-1 Board of Education Wednesday evening at their monthly board meeting.
The board also heard an update from the one-to-one technology committee who said they hope to have the program fully implemented by the 2017/18 school year. The program hopes to add significantly more devices for students.
In the 2017/18 school year each student will have a device with continuation of professional development in instructional materials and strategies.  The committee would like to see an individual oversee the program as sort of a coach and trainer for technology who will assist teachers and students.
Between December 15 and January 19 of next year, two seats on the Board of Education will be up for election. Filings can be made at the Boonville R-1 Headquarters near Laura Speed Elliott Middle School between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Certain requirements must be met to be eligible to run for the school board.
