Police are searching for a possible arson suspect in connection with several fires on Saturday. The suspect is thought to be a Hispanic male, around 30 years old, 5'2-5'4, 140 to 150 pounds with a white t-shirt and blue pants.

BOONVILLE–Police are searching for a possible arson suspect in connection with several fires on Saturday. The suspect is thought to be a Hispanic male, around 30 years old, 5'2-5'4, 140 to 150 pounds with a white t-shirt and blue pants.

On Saturday the Cooper County Fire Protection District responded to multiple structure fire calls potentially caused by this individual.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., the CCFPD responded as mutual aid to assist the Boonville Fire Department at Rankin Mill Road with a structure fire. Two engines, two tankers and one brush truck responded to this scene.

While finishing this call, CCFPD was dispatched to a report of a grain truck on fire on Jackson Road. While en route, CCFPD was notified that a shed was in danger with a combine inside.

When CCFPD arrived on scene, the grain truck was fully involved along with the combine being partially involved. Additionally, approximately 100 yards away the corn field was also on fire.

CCFPD responded with two tankers, two brush trucks and one engine. Howard County Fire Protection District was dispatched for mutual aid and they responded with an engine, brush truck and ATV.

Lieutenant Nathan Brandes was the incident commander on both scenes.
