Vollmer Farms beats CARSTAR and Jessica Quint, DDS in two games

CARSTAR opened the game with two runs in the first and then sent four runs across in the second and six again in the third to beat Fuemmeler Furniture Refinishings 12-6 in Babe Ruth 10U softball Sunday night at Lions park.
Olivia Eichelberger was the winning pitcher in the game for CARSTAR while Emma West took the loss for FFR. Eichelberger pitched all three innings and gave up six runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three. West, meanwhile, pitched the first-two innings and allowed six runs on nine walks while striking out four.
Genae Hodge had the only hit in the game for CARSTAR, being a double.
For FFR, Emma West went 2-for-2 with a single, double and one RBI. Abby Fuemmeler doubled and drove in one RBI while Lexi Maddex added one single and one RBI and Molly Schuster, Alex Shadwick and Cassidy Bishop each with one RBI.
In the second game on Sunday, Vollmer Farms beat Jessica Quint, DDS by a score of 9-2.
VFM led JQT 3-2 after the first and then exploded for six runs in the second.
Addison Brownfield picked up the win in the circle for VFM while Kenzie Felten took the loss for JQT. Browning pitched the first-two innings and struck out five batters while giving up two runs on six walks. Felten, meanwhile, pitched two innings and gave up nine runs on three hits and eight walks while striking out five.
VFM also out-hit JQT 3-0, with Addison Brownfield going 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs. Grace Williams also doubled and drove in one run while Ava Parman singled.
JQT had no hits in the ballgame.
In the third game, FFR edged Citizen’s Community Bank 11-10.
FFR, improving to 8-4-1 on the season, trailed CCB 10-6 after 1 1/2 before rallying with five runs in the bottom-half of the second.
Cassidy Bishop was the winning pitcher in the game for FFR while Marin Hoelscher took the loss for CCB, who dropped to 5-9 on the season. Bishop pitched the first-two innings and gave up 10 runs on 12 walks while striking out two. Hoelscher, meanwhile, pitched one inning and gave up eight runs on one hit and seven walks while striking out one.
FFR also out-hit CCB 3-0, with Emma West going 2-for-2 with a single, triple and two RBIs. Abby Fuemmeler homered and drove in three runs.
For CCB, Hailey James had one RBI.
In the final game last night, Vollmer Farms upended CARSTAR by a score of 8-7.
Vollmer Farms, improving to 9-4-1 on the season, trailed CARSTAR 5-4 after one and 7-4 after 1 1/2 before rallying back with four runs in the bottom-half of the second.

VFM also out-hit CARSTAR 6-0, with Skylar Andrews going 2-for-2 with a single and a triple.
Addison Brownfield and Grace Williams each had one single and two RBIs while Abby Pulliam and Terianna Eckerle added one single and one RBI and Ava Parman with one RBI.
CARSTAR had no hits in the ballgame.
