UMB Bank blanks Alliant Bank 12-0 in the nightcap
Alliant Bank scored eight runs in the first-two innings and never looked back, beating Pilot Grove 11-7 in Senior Babe Ruth action last night at Twillman field in Harley park.
After both teams played to a 3-3 tie after one, Alliant Bank came back and exploded for five runs in the second to extend the lead to 8-3. Pilot Grove, meanwhile, sent one run across in the fourth and two again in the fifth to cut the lead to 8-6. Unfortunately for Pilot Grove, they never got any closer in the ballgame as Alliant Bank added two in the sixth and one again in the seventh for the victory.
Riley Lang picked up the win on the mound for Alliant Bank while Jon Gerke took the loss for Pilot Grove. Lang pitched all seven innings and struck out seven batters while giving up seven runs on 12 hits and two walks. Gerke, meanwhile, pitched all seven innings for Pilot Grove and allowed 11 runs on 11 hits and one walk while striking out six.
Alliant Bank also finished the game with 11 hits, with Riley Lang going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Brady Gholson also had two hits, one of which went for a double, and one RBI while Lane Ball added a single and a double, Quincy Banuet with one double and two RBIs, Ryan Brown and Austin Andrews each with one single and one RBI and Dylan Johnson and Austin Doyle each with one single.
For Pilot Grove, Grant Vollrath went 4-for-4 with two singles, one double, one triple and three RBIs.
Regan Meisenheimer was 3-for-4 with three singles and one RBI while Jon Gerke added two singles and one RBI, Isaac Lorenz with one double, Ben Glenn and Austin Hammond each with one single and Jacob Twenter and Anderson Twenter with one RBI each.
In the nightcap, UMB Bank blanked Alliant Bank by a score of 12-0 in five innings.
UMB Bank opened the game with one run in the first and then sent three runs across in the second, six again in the third and two in the fourth.
Austin Hulbert picked up the win on the mound for UMB Bank while Ryan Brown took the loss for Alliant Bank. Hulbert pitched all five innings and struck out six batters while giving up one hit and two walks.

Evan Franklin was 2-for-3 with two singles and one RBI while Levi Bishop added a home run and three RBIs, Clay Jeffery and Makiah Waibel each with one single, Nathan Green with two RBIs and Jake Esser and Wyatt Grizzle each with one RBI.
For Alliant Bank, Dylan Johnson had the only hit in the game with a single.
