With the Cal Ripken season coming to a close, what better way to finish out the season than to have two teams battling it out Saturday in the first game at Harley park.
Of course prior to Saturday’s games, Einspahr Construction defeated Boonville Ready Mix in the first game on Friday by a score of 9-6 while A-Bow-K beat Rt. B Cafe 12-9.
Einspahr Construction never trailed in the game against Boonville Ready Mix and led 3-0 after one and 6-0 after three. Meanwhile, after BRM plated three runs in the top-half of the fourth, Einspahr Construction came back and added three runs in the fifth to extend the lead to 9-3. Then, in the sixth, Boonville Ready Mix sent across three more runs.
Hank Zeller picked up the win on the mound for Einspahr Construction while Austin Rice took the loss for Boonville Ready Mix. Zeller pitched 3 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four. Rice, meanwhile, pitched one inning in relief and allowed three runs on one hit and three walks while striking out one batter.
Collecting hits for Einspahr Construction were Lane Keeran with a single, double and two RBIs.
Keaton Eads also doubled and drove in two runs while Alexander Elliott added a single and three RBIs and Levi Jeffries and Hank Zeller each with one single.
For Boonville Ready Mix, Conner Rhorer went 2-for-2 with a single, triple and two RBIs while Austin Schuster added a single and a double, Tanner Bishop with one single and one RBI, Eric Kearns and Austin Rice each with one single and Blake Richardson and Abram Taylor with one RBI each.
In the second game on Friday, A-Bow-K opened the game with two runs in the first and then sent six runs across in the second and four again in the fifth. Rt. B Cafe, meanwhile, plated two runs in each of the second and third innings of play, three again in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Max Eckerle was the winning pitcher in the game for A-Bow-K while Isaiah Hauptmann took the loss for Rt. B Cafe.  Eckerle pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on six walks while striking out three batters. Hauptmann, meanwhile, pitched 1 2/3 innings and surrendered eight runs on four hits and five walks while striking out three.
Jackson Johns led the hitting attack in the game for A-Bow-K with a single, double and one RBI.
Max Eckerle had two singles and two RBIs while Garrett Hundley added one single and three RBIs, Shane Chamberlain with one single and two RBIs and Tate Rentel and Owen Reynolds each with one RBI.
For R. B Cafe, Connor Acton went 3-for-4 with three singles and two RBIs.
Lawson Edwards was 2-for-4 with two singles and one RBI while Cameron Poulsen added one double, Carter Rowlett with one single and two RBIs, Bentley Turner with one single and Carson Wingert and William Wiser each with one RBI.
In the much anticipated game on Saturday between Einspahr Construction and Boonville Daily News, Einspahr Construction jumped out on top with one run in the top-half of the fourth only to have Boonville Daily News rally with two in the bottom-half of the fifth to go up 2-1. However, in the sixth, Einspahr Construction rallied back with three runs to go up 4-2 while Boonville Daily News sent one run across in the bottom-half of the inning to cut the lead back to one.
Lane Keeran was the winning pitcher in the game for Einspahr Construction while Clayton Wilmsmeyer took the loss for Boonville Daily News. Keeran pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one. Wilmsmeyer, meanwhile, pitched three innings and yielded four runs on eight hits while striking out three.
Einspahr Construction also out-hit Boonville Daily News 10-3, with Keaton Eads going 3-for-3 with three singles and one RBI. Lane Keeran was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and one RBI while Michael Bullard had two singles and one RBI, Levi Jeffries, Alexander Elliott and Gage Morris each with one single and Jordan Fishburn with one RBI.
For Boonville Daily News, Henry Rohrbach went 1-for-3 with one triple while Alex McBain added one single and two RBIs and Gage Sulltrop with one single.
In the second game on Saturday, Axis Seed scored a total of 15 runs in three innings to beat APAC 15-6.
Axis Seed led APAC 7-1 after one and 8-3 after two. Meanwhile, in the third inning, APAC sent across three more runs in the third while Axis Seed added seven in the bottom-half of the inning.
Tucker Lorenz picked up the win on the mound for Axis Seed while Chase Amos took the loss for APAC.
Lorenz pitched one inning and struck out two batters while giving up one run on one hit and two walks. Amos, meanwhile, pitched one inning and gave up seven runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two.
Axis Seed also had six hits in the game, with Colby Caton going 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple and three RBIs.
Tucker Lorenz and Will Stock each had one single and two RBIs while Gage Young added one single and Owen Armentrout, Bryson Wessing, Rhodes Leonard and Ryan Dell each with one RBI.
For APAC, Edrissa Bah-Lamb doubled while Brayden Gamel added one single and one RBI and Caidyn Hazel with one single.
In the final game on Saturday, Boonville Ready Mix and Rt. B Cafe squared off with Boonville Ready Mix winning 10-7.
Although Rt. B Cafe made it close in the end, Boonville Ready Mix led the entire game while taking a 2-0 lead after one, a 4-0 lead after three and a 5-1 lead after five. Meanwhile, in the top-half of the sixth, BRM broke the game wide open, or so it seemed, with five runs to extend the lead to 10-1. However, in the bottom-half of the sixth, Rt. B Cafe made it interesting by exploding for six runs to cut the lead back to three.
Eric Kearns picked up the win on the mound for BRM while Connor Acton took the loss for R. B Cafe.
Kearns pitched the first-three innings and struck out four batters while giving up two hits and one walk. Acton, meanwhile, pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed four runs on six hits while striking out six.
Boonville Ready Mix also out-hit Rt. B Cafe 9-7, with Tanner Bishop going 2-for-2 with a single, double and three RBIs. Eric Kearns was 2-for-4 with two singles and one RBI while Austin Rice added two singles, Bryce Drew with one single and two RBIs, Connor Rhorer and Hayden Jenks each with one single and Blake Richardson with RBI.
For Rt. B Cafe, Connor Acton went 3-for-3 with two singles, one double and one RBI.
Cameron Poulsen also doubled in the game while Isaiah Hauptmann and Bentley Turner added one single and one RBI each and Lawson Edwards with one single.
