In make-up games Saturday in Cal Ripken Minor, Einspahr Construction defeated APAC by a score of 13-0 while Axis Seed edged A-Bow-K 11-9. Meanwhile, in the third game, Boonville Daily News beat Rt. B Cafe 18-4.
Einspahr Construction, improving to 5-1 on the season, opened the game with five runs in the first and then sent three runs across in the fourth and five again in the sixth for the victory.
Levi Jeffries picked up the win on the mound for Einspahr Construction while Isaac Marriott took the loss for APAC, who dropped to 1-4 on the season. Jeffries pitched the first-four innings and struck out eight batters while giving up two hits. Marriott, meanwhile, pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed five runs on five hits and four walks while striking out two.
Einspahr Construction also out-hit APAC 12-2, with Alexander Elliott collecting one single, two doubles and four RBIs.
Jordan Fishburn had two singles, one double and three RBIs while Levi Jeffries added two singles and one double and Keaton Eads, Zander Schuster and Ian Sprick each with a RBI-single.
For APAC, Isaac Marriott had both of the team’s hits with a single and a double.
In the second game, A-Bow-K jumped out on top with two runs in the first and one again in the second. However, after a scoreless third inning, Axis Seed came back and exploded for five runs in the fourth, one again in the fifth and five in the sixth to go up 11-3. Meanwhile, in the bottom-half of the sixth, A-Bow-K rallied back with six runs to cut the lead to two.
Colby Caton was the winning pitcher in the game for Axis Seed (2-6) while Jackson Johns took the loss for A-Bow-K. Caton pitched four-plus innings in relief and struck out nine batters while giving up one run on one hit and two walks. Johns, meanwhile, pitched three-plus innings and struck out seven batters while giving up three runs on four hits and one walk.
Axis Seed also finished the game with 11 hits, with Colby Caton collecting two singles, one double and one RBI. Tucker Lorenz had three singles and three RBIs while Will Stock added one double and two RBIs, Gage Young with one single and two RBIs and Eli Stock and Owen Armentrout each with one single.
For A-Bow-K, who dropped to 3-4, Max Eckerle had a single, double and one RBI.
In the final game, the Boonville Daily News improved to 7-2 on the season by leading Rt. B Cafe from start to finish.
The BDN led Rt. B Cafe 3-2 after one, 9-2 after two and 10-4 after four. Meanwhile, in the fifth, the BDN broke the game wide open with five runs to win by the mercy rule.
Gage Sulltrop picked up the win on the mound for BDN while Connor Acton took the loss for Rt. B Cafe, who dropped to 2-5. Sulltrop pitched the first-two innings and struck out four batters while giving up two runs on four walks. Acton, meanwhile, pitched 2 2/3 innings and surrendered nine run on five hits and two walks while striking out five.
BDN also out-hit Rt. B Cafe 11-1, with Clayton Wilmsmeyer collecting one single, three doubles and four RBIs.
Henry Rohrbach had a single, triple and two RBIs while Dakota Williams added a single, double and three RBIs, Ethan Watson and Davion Klearman each with a RBI-single and Aaron Vossler with one single.
Rt. B Cafe was led by Connor Acton with a RBI-double.
