The Boonville High School Alumni Association will hold its 51st Annual Meeting and Banquet during Heritage Days on Saturday evening, June 27, in the Grand Ballroom at the Isle of Capri Hotel in Boonville.
BOONVILLE–The Boonville High School Alumni Association will hold its 51st Annual Meeting and Banquet during Heritage Days on Saturday evening, June 27, in the Grand Ballroom at the Isle of Capri Hotel in Boonville.
The evening will feature Greg Oswald, a 1982 graduate of Boonville High School, as the keynote speaker. Oswald is Vice President for North America Manufacturing for Lindsay Corporation in Omaha, Nebraska. Greg joined Lindsay Corporation in 2007 as the Lean Director of Manufacturing and was named to his present position in 2010. Lindsay Corporation provides proprietary water management and road infrastructure products and services in the United States and internationally. Prior to his employment at Lindsay Corporation, Oswald was a Global Lean Manager for Dana Corporation and was highly successful with lean projects in Australia, Brazil, South Africa and Mexico. Oswald has been instrumental in transforming manufacturing operations into world-class facilities. He and his wife, Lori, reside in Omaha, Neb.
They have two sons, Nathan and Justin, both also graduates of Boonville High School, and two granddaughters, Cora and Audrey. Oswald is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt as well as a Certified Lean Trainer. He credits his roots and fundamentals learned as a student at Boonville High School as contributing factors to his success.
Founded in 1964, the Boonville High School Alumni Association is comprised of graduates from all four Boonville high schools that have existed, including Boonville High School, Laura Speed Elliott High School, Sumner High School and S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic High School.
Austin Andrews, Tyler Drew, Kelsey Gerlach and Isaac Hinkle who are the 2015 recipients of the $1,000 Annual Scholarships given by the Alumni Association, will be honored at the banquet.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for socializing. A business meeting and meal begins at 6 p.m. Alumni of all years are invited to attend and classes holding their reunions this year marking every five years from 1940 through 2010 may reserve tables for the evening – these are class years ending in five and zero. The cost of the banquet is $25 per person.
Reservations can be made by mailing payment to Boonville High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 318, Boonville, MO 65233. Individuals or classes needing more information or wanting to reserve a table are invited to call 660-882-5085. The deadline for reservations is June 19.
The non-profit Boonville High School Alumni Association is funded by dues and contributions that help to pay for the four $1,000 scholarships given annually to Boonville High School graduates. Board members continue to consider ways to utilize modern technologies such as the Internet along with web pages and Facebook to better communicate with alumni members. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Communication along with growth in the numbers of dues-paying members and attendance of alumni members of all years is needed to assure the viability of the Boonville High Schools Alumni Association.
