The Boonslick Model Railroad Club showed off the trains, not only to the public, but to members of the Mid-Continent Region Convention, which was held in Jefferson City.
According to Mike Duncan, club facilitator, the Boonslick Model Railroad Club is one of the largest around. This is shown by the expansion the club is experiencing. In the last five years, the club has grown substantially and now is utilizing the entire basement of the chambers.
Some expansion projects have included drilling holes through a foot thick brick wall that was not supose to be there. Now, that hole is used as a tunnel for trails to pass from one room to another.
By 2 p.m., on Sunday, a couple people had already visited the club who attended the convention. They were impressed with the setup of the club, which continues to add new members on a monthly basis.
The club also opens up to the public, especially on days of festivals and special events.
