Boonville Caterpillar had the perfect start to the 2015 season in Midget League action Monday night at Kemper park by beating C&R Market 2-0.
While recording the shutout against C&R Market, Boonville Caterpillar also scored both runs in the bottom-half of the sixth for the victory.
Lyle Christy picked up the win on the mound for Boonville Caterpillar while Zach Espy took the loss for C&R Market. Christy pitched three innings in relief of starter Drew Rhorer and struck out eight batters while giving up two walks. Rhorer had nine strikeouts in three innings.
For C&R Market, Espy pitched part of the sixth and gave up two runs on two hits and one walk.
Boonville Caterpillar also out-hit C&R Market 4-0, with Coleman Browning going 2-for-2 with two singles. Trenton Schoen had one double and two RBIs while connor Wilmsmeyer added one single.
C&R Market finished the game with no hits.
