MPB scored 20 runs on just two hits to beat JQT 20-4 in Babe Ruth 12U softball Monday night at Rollings Hills park.
MPB, 1-1 on the season, opened the game with seven runs in the top-half of the first and then sent six runs across in the second and seven again in the third to win by the mercy rule. JQT, meanwhile, scored two runs in each of the second and third innings of play.
Jerzee Quint garnered the win in the circle for MPB while Laci Fuhlage took the loss for JQT. Quint pitched all three innings and struck out seven batters while giving up four runs on two hits and three walks. Fuhlage, meanwhile, started the game and pitched one inning and allowed seven runs on two hits and six walks.
Breanna Estes and Emma Kendricks each had one single in the game for MPB while Jodie Bass added two doubles for JQT.
In the nightcap, Fuemmeler Furniture Refinishings defeated Market Place 12-9.
FFR, improving to 3-0 on the season, trailed Market Place 8-3 after the first before rallying back with four runs in the second and five again in the fourth for the victory.
Brooke Eichelberger picked up the win in the circle for FFR while Logan Root took the loss for Market Place. Eichelberger pitched the first-four innings and gave up nine runs on two hits and 11 walks while striking out seven. Root, meanwhile, pitched four innings and surrendered 12 runs on five hits and five walks while striking out 10.
FFR also had five hits in the game, with Brooke Eichelberger going 2-for-2 with a single and a triple. Zoey Laster had two singles while Daylynn Baker finished the game with one single.
For Market Place, Reese Lavers doubled while Logan Root singled.
