CCL scored six runs in the first, and Angela Bryant tossed a three-hit shutout through four innings last Friday night in Babe Ruth 16U softball against the Boonville Daily News for a 19-0 victory.
CCL scored in every inning against the BDN and led 6-0 after one, 9-0 after two and 13-0 after three before adding six more runs in the fourth.
As for Bryant, the young hurler gave up just three hits and seven walks in four innings while striking out one.
Peyton Kempf took the loss in the circle for BDN, who dropped to 1-2 on the season, by giving up 13 runs on 12 hits and five walks while striking out two batters in three innings. Kelsey Bishop then came in and pitched one inning in relief and allowed six runs on three hits and five walks.
CCL also out-hit BDN 15-3, with Kyla Johnson going 3-for-3 with two singles, one double and two RBIs.
Kishanda Jones was 2-for-3 with two doubles while Andrea Jackson added a single, double and two RBIs, Kyra Perkins with two singles and one RBI, Autumnn Fuemmeler with two singles, Jasmine Watson with one double, Angela Bryant with a RBI-single and Madison Watson and Josie Robb each with one single.
For the BDN, Peyton Kempf, Alexis Reuter and Courtney Marsh each had one single.
In the nightcap, BQL rallied with nine unanswered runs to beat CCL by a score of 9-8.
CCL opened the game with one run in the first and seven again in the second to lead BQL by a score of 8-0. However it was BQL for the rest of the game with five runs in the third and four again in the fourth.
Hailey Polk picked up the win in the circle for BQL, 1-1 on the season, while Autumn Fuemmeler took the loss for CCL, who fell to 2-1. Polk pitched all four innings and gave up eight runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out one. Fuemmeler, meanwhile, pitched four innings for CCL and allowed nine runs on 12 hits and seven walks while striking out two.
BQL also finished the game with 12 hits, with Jacey Fenton going 3-for-3 with a single, double, triple and four RBIs.
Rebecca Howery was 2-for-2 with two singles and one RBI while Natasha Jenkins added two singles, Zoe Coffelt with one double and Cheyenne Schuster, Morgan Massa and Hailey Polk each with one single.
For CCL, Jasmine Watson went 2-for-2 with two singles.
Kyla Johnson finished the game with one double and two RBIs while Kishanda Jones added a single and two RBIs and Kyra Perkins, Andrea Jackson, Madison Watson, Autumn Fuemmeler and Angela Bryant each with one single.
