Walmart rallied from a one-run deficit after 4 1/2 by scoring two runs in the bottom-half of the fifth to beat Creations by Diana last night in Babe Ruth 8U softball at Lions park.
Walmart, improving to 1-1 on the season, led Creations by Diana 2-1 after the first. Meanwhile, after a scoreless second inning, Creations by Diana rallied back with one run in the third to tie the game at 2-all. Of course it only took one inning for Walmart to regain the lead after putting up three runs in the bottom-half of the fourth to make it 5-2. But even that was short-lived as Creations by Diana rallied back with four runs to go ahead by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately for Creations by Diana, Walmart had the last at-bat and made the most of the opportunity by pushing across two runs for the victory.
Grace Poulsen led the hitting attack in the game for Walmart with three singles.
Emma Sleeper had a single and a double while Isabella Wolfe, Shelby Munden, Kiley Tavenner, Cloey Tavenner, Anna Wolfe and Brooke Lorenz added two singles each and Kayla Lorenz, Brooke Murphy, Sadie Streck and Milly Waller with one single apiece.
For Creations by Diana, Kylee Turner, Cora Thompson, Emerson Eads and Alivia Bottoms each had three singles while Presley Nease and Hannah Klein added two singles each and Rachael Fitzgerald, Ava Tbara and Hillary James each with one single.
In the nightcap, Custom Weatherproofing defeated Drummond Photography by a score of 13-3.
CWP, 1-1 on the season, opened the game with four runs in the first and then sent four runs across in the second, three again in the third and two in the fourth to make it 13-3. Meanwhile, in the bottom-half of the fourth, DRP plated three runs to closeout the scoring.
Amera Wright had three hits in the game for CWP with two triples and one home run.
Lorelai Hunziker and Mackenzie Drew each had three singles while Kylee Hopkins, Alexis Lane, Alycia Felgar, Ryann Arnold and Katrina Zbinden added two singles each and Ella Battreall, Marina Loughary and Becky Shaw with one single apiece.
For DRP, who dropped to 1-1, Peyton Umfleet had two singles while Allison Drummond doubled and Mabry Caton, Mylie Edwards, Randi Cottreal, Rowan Stock and Kamryn Hundley each singled.
