Vollmer Farms and JAK Nutrition had the perfect start to the 2015 10U Babe Ruth Softball season Monday night at Lions park.
For Vollmer Farm, they defeated Jessica Quint, DDS by a score of 14-0 in four innings while JAK Nutrition beat CARSTAR in a pitcher’s duel 1-0.
Vollmer Farms, 1-0 on the season, scored all 14 runs in the first-three innings by plating four runs in each of the first and second innings and six again in the third.
Vollmer Farms also out-hit Jessica Quint, DDS 21-1, with Skylar Andrews going 3-for-3 with two singles, one double and four RBIs.
Addison Brownfield had two singles, one double and two RBIs for Vollmer Farms while Mariyah Minor added three singles and three RBIs, Grace Williams with three singles and one RBI, Teriana Eckerle with three singles, Ava Parman with a single, double and one RBI, Alexis Curtis and Addison Ward each with two singles, Kasie Northern with a single and a RBI and Lauren Weimer with one single.
Collecting the only hit in the game for Jessica Quint, DDS was Leah Lembke with one single.
In the nightcap, JAK Nutrition scored the game’s only run in the bottom-half of the third to beat CARSTAR.
JAK Nutrition also out-hit CARSTAR 6-3, with Natalie Glenn going 2-for-2 with two singles and one RBI. Grace Phillips also had two hits, both of which were singles, while Marci Lammers and Hannah LeGrant added one single each.
For CARSTAR, Mia Hatter, Genae Hodge and Abby Pannell each had one single.
Boonville 10U softball will continue tonight, with Citizen’s Community Bank playing CARSTAR starting at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, at 8, Jessica Quint, DDS will take on Fuemmeler Furniture Refinishing at 8. Babe Ruth 10U softball will pick back up again on Monday, April 27th.
