Bunceton boys drop a 57-26 decision

The Bunceton Lady Dragons basketball team fell short on the road last night against the Otterville Lady Eagles in CCAA action by a score of 38-37.
The Lady Dragons, dropping to 5-19 overall and 1-3 in the CCAA conference, trailed Otterville 9-2 after first period’s end and 17-11 at the half before rallying back with 26-21 advantage in the second half only to come up short by one.
Bunceton coach Mike Arnold said the girls came out sluggish and tired. “We fought in the second half to take the lead,” Arnold said. “Defensively, we played ok. We had too many turnovers and missed layups down the stretch.”
Albina Oleynik had 12 points and Natalie Schoen 11 for Otterville.
For Bunceton, Julia Kahle finished the game with 13 points and five rebounds.
Rachel Lenz had 11 points, five rebounds, four steals and one assist while Deanne Emde added seven points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, Emily Clevenger with four points, three rebounds and one assist and Jenna Kahle with two points and two rebounds.
As for the Bunceton boys, they fell against Otterville by a score of 57-26.
The Dragons, dropping to 0-20 on the season, trailed Otterville 32-12 at the half and 48-21 after three quarters of play.
Aaron Clevenger finished the game with a double-double for Bunceton with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Rylee Knapheide tossed in eight points and grabbed two rebounds while Jordon Angermayer added four points and seven rebounds, Riley Layne with two points and nine rebounds and Damion Amidon with two points.
