Nordyne broke a 1-1 tie after 3 1/2 innings by scoring three runs in the bottom-half of the fourth to beat C&R Market 4-1 in Midget League action at Kemper park.
Nordyne, improving to 5-2 on the season, scored first in the game with one run in the bottom-half of the first. Meanwhile, after both teams failed to score in the second and third innings of play, C&R Market rallied back with one run in the top-half of the fourth to tie the game at 1-all. However, in the bottom-half of the inning, Nordyne all but sealed the victory by pushing across three runs for the victory.
Bentley Turner picked up the win on the mound for Nordyne while Ryan Dell took the loss for C&R Market, who dropped to 4-6 overall. Turner pitched the first-three innings and struck out eight batters while giving up just two walks. Garrett Hundley then came in and pitched one inning in relief and allowed one run on two hits while striking out three. Then, to finish the game, Eric Kearns pitched one inning and struck out three batters while walking one.
For C&R Market, Tanner Bishop pitched the first-two innings and struck out five batters while giving up one run on one hit. Dell then came in and pitched two innings in relief and surrendered three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two.
Evan Bishop led the hitting attack in the game for Nordyne with a single, double and one RBI. Eric Kearns added two singles while Garrett Hundley finished the game with one single and Cooper Kopine with one RBI.
For C&R Market, Tanner Bishop had three singles and one RBI while Ednissa Bah-Lamb added one double and Eli Stock, Will Stock and Henry Rohrbach with one single.

Excel exploded for five runs in each of the first-two innings to beat Boonville Caterpillar 11-1 in Midget League action Wednesday night at Kemper park.
Excel, improving to 5-3 on the season, led Boonville Caterpillar 5-1 after the first and 10-1 after two. Excel also plated one run in the fourth to win by the mercy rule.
Isaiah Hauptmann picked up the win on the mound for Excel while Chase Amos took the loss for Boonville Caterpillar, who dropped to 5-3 on the season. Hauptmann pitched the first inning and struck out three batters while giving up one run on one hit. Dakota Williams then came in and pitched three innings in relief and walked three while striking out eight.
For Boonville Caterpillar, Amos pitched the first-two innings and gave up 10 runs on three hits and nine walks while striking out three. Jayden Reddell then came in and pitched two innings in relief and issued one run on one hit and three walks while striking out five.
Excel also out-hit Boonville Caterpillar 4-1, with Micah Brack going 3-for-3 with a double, triple, home run and eight RBIs. Lawson Edwards was 1-for-2 with a single and one RBI.
