87 Diner wins the nightcap against CWP, 9-4

Boonville Caterpillar evened its season record to 2-2 in Babe Ruth 8U softball last Thursday at Lions park by beating Phillip Imhoff Construction by a score of 4-3.
Caterpillar opened the game with one run in each of the first and second innings of play to go up 2-0. However, in the bottom-half of the third, PIC rallied back with three runs to lead by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately for PIC, they never led again in the ballgame as Caterpillar sent two runs across in the fourth for the victory.
Caterpillar also out-hit PIC 16-9, with Hannah LeGrant, Olivia Eichelberger and Allison Eichelberger each going 3-for-3 with three singles. Elly Rapp, Genae Hodge and Audrionnah Donahue finished the game with two singles each while Mia Eckerle added one single.
For PIC, 1-5 on the season, Molly Schuster went 3-for-3 with three singles while Grace Williams and Mariah Minor added two singles each, Kasie Northern with one double and Terianna Eckerle with one single.
In the nightcap, 87 Diner jumped out to stay against Custom Weatherproofing while leading 5-3 after one and 6-3 after two before adding three more runs in the fourth.
Candence Shelton and Allyssa Gross each had three hits in the game for 87 Diner. Alondra Green and Jordyn Fuemmeler finished the game with one single and one double each while Emma Wells and Mackenzie Parish added two singles each and Bridgette Lutz and Lindsey Lammers with one single apiece.
For CWP, who dropped to 2-4 on the season, Emily Gibson went 3-for-3 with two singles and one double. Amera Wright also had three hits, all of which went for singles, while LaShayla Korte and Haley James added two singles each and Cassidy Bishop, Skylar Andrews, Odessa Bechtel and Abby Pannell with one single apiece.
