Boonville Daily News moved over the .500 mark for the season at 4-3 by turning back Boonville Ready Mix in Cal Ripken Minor Friday night at Harley park.
In the nightcap, Rt. B Cafe picked up its first win of the season by beating A-Bow-K in a slugfest by a score of 14-11.
The Boonville Daily News trailed Boonville Ready Mix 1-0 after one, 4-0 after two and 6-1 after three before rallying back with four runs in the bottom-half of the fourth to cut the lead to two at 7-5. Meanwhile, after BRM added another run in the top-half of the fifth to make it 8-5, Boonville Daily News came back and plated four more runs in the bottom-half of the sixth for the victory.
Drew Vossler picked up the win on the mound for Boonville Daily News while Memphis Waibel took the loss for Boonville Ready Mix, who dropped to 4-3 overall.
Vossler, one of four pitchers in the game for the BDN, pitched a total of 1 1/3 innings and gave up one run on no hits and no walks while striking out one.
For Boonville Ready Mix, meanwhile, Waibel pitched part of the sixth and allowed four runs on one walk.
Boonville Daily News also out-hit Boonville Ready Mix 6-4, with Drew Vossler going 2-for-3 with two singles. Jacob Vossler was 1-for-4 with one double while Axton Neese added a single and three RBIs, Nathaniel Krebs with one single and two RBIs and Alex Van Dyke with one single and one RBI.
For Boonville Ready Mix, Bailey Quint went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two RBIs while Adam Klein added an inside the park home run and one RBI and Elijah Carter with one double.
In the nightcap, Rt. B Cafe jumped out on top against A-Bow-K with five runs in the first and three again in the second to lead by a score of 8-2. However, in the bottom-half of the third, A-Bow-K rallied back with eight runs to go up 10-8. Unfortunately for A-Bow-K, they never led again in the ballgame as Rt. B Cafe rallied back with three runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings of play for the victory.
Bryce Harris was the winning pitcher in the game for Rt. B Cafe, 1-5 on the season, while Spencer Steakley took the loss for A-Bow-K, who dropped to 2-4.
Harris pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief ad issued one run on two walks while striking out four batters. For A-Bow-K, Steakley pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief for starter Charlie Bronakowski and surrendered six runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out three.
Rt. B Cafe also finished the game with 17 hits, with Peyton Hahn going 3-for-4 with one singles, two doubles and three RBIs. Quinton Ewings was 3-for-4 with two singles and one double while Bryce Harris added a single, double and two RBIs, Cameron Ray and Kaullin Kosnopfal each with two singles and two RBIs, De’Andre Wesolak also with two singles and Luke Kollmeyer and Brett Thompson with two singles and one RBI each.
For A-Bow-K, Charlie Bronakowski went 3-for-3 with two singles, one home run and four RBIs while Harper Stock added one single and one double and Spencer Steakley with one single.
