The Ss. Peter & Paul boys seventh and eighth grade basketball teams picked up a pair of wins last night in Boonville by beating the Marshall Owls by the scores of 30-24 and 45-20, respectively.
The seventh grade Warriors led Marshall 16-6 at the half and 23-15 after three quarters of play. Meanwhile, in the final period, the Owls outscored Ss. Peter & Paul 9-7.
Samuel Wiser had the high game for Ss. Peter & Paul with 11 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Kyle Chrisman finished the game with 10 points, seven rebounds and one steal while Ben Horst added three points, one rebound and one steal, Ben Eichelberger with two points and six rebounds, Thomas Simmons with two points and four assists and Kellen Barnes also with two points.
For the eighth grade Warriors, they led Marshall 24-15 at the half and then outscored the Owls 10-5 in the final-two periods for the victory.
Ss. Peter & Paul coach Kevin Lang said he thought the boys did a good job of keeping Marshall off the boards. “Our defense continues to improve,” Lang said. “The entire team contributed to the win.”
Riley Lang led the scoring attack in the game for Ss. Peter & Paul, who improved to 9-1 on the season, with 15 points along with seven rebounds, four assists and one steal.
Nick Zeitlow finished the game with 10 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two assists while Zach Weber added six points, three rebounds and one assist, Ryan Witting with six points, three rebounds and one steal, Makiah Waibel with four points, two rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot, Ryan Sprigg with three points, five rebounds, one steal and one assist, Tommy Kopine with one point, five rebounds and one assist and Toby Adair with two rebounds and one blocked shot.
For Marshall, Eriki Mays had 11 and Kody Plattner four.
