Facing the second half of his campaign, Dave Muntzell, Republican candidate for 48th district State Representative seat, will face his Democrat counterpart, Ron Monnig, in the weeks to come for the Jefferson City job.

"My intentions from here on out are to make more contact with the voters in all six of the counties I'll have constituents in," said Muntzell.

Thus far, the candidate has had dinners in Pilot Grove, Otterville, Boonville and Bunceton. More meet and greets are scheduled. He also plans to attend the Heritage Days' Hayden House wine event here in Boonville. He will operate out of the Republican tent and have a car in the Saturday parade on June 23. Muntzell will also be attending fairs in Cooper, Pettis, Howard and Saline counties.

Muntzell is from a small farm 10 miles south of Boonville in Bellair and graduated from high school in Bunceton. He is a graduate of Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing.

"Having close ties with the agriculture industry in this area, it gives me a real good insight into what local farmers and small businesses are experiencing. I can take those ideas and concerns to Jefferson City," he said.

The 48th district seat includes parts of 6 counties. Cooper, Howard, Pettis, Saline, Sheridan and Randolph counties each have a stake.

"The district crisscrosses from Moberly to the city limits of Sedalia, and from Brunswick to near Prairie Home," he said.
