One day after knocking off the No. 1 team in the state in extra innings by a score of 8-2, the New Franklin baseball team came back last night and fell on the road against the Glasgow Yellowjackets 3-1.

The Bulldogs, dropping to 8-3 on the season, opened the game with one run in the first but then surrendered two in the second and one again in the sixth to suffer the loss.

New Franklin coach Erich Gerding said his team definitely looked flat against Glasgow. “Alex Holem came in after Tanner’s arm troubles forced him out and gave us a chance to win,”?Gerding said. “We had too many poor at-bats and just could not get a clutch hit when we need one.”

Austin Stockhorst picked up the win for Glasgow, who won for the first time this season in five games, while Tanner White took the loss for New Franklin.

Glasgow also out-hit New Franklin 8-4, with Stockhorst and Yung collecting two hits each. For New Franklin, Dylan Johnson went 2-for-3 with two singles. Tyler White had a home run while Tanner White singled.

Glasgow also won the JV game by a score of 2-1.

Johnson homered in the game for New Franklin’s only run.
