The Boonslick Heartland YMCA wrestlers had a productive weekend while competing in the Corey L. Cox Memorial Tournament in Centralia.


While competing against a field of 440 wrestlers from 25 clubs, the Pirates had 15 wrestlers participate with six placing first, five finishing second, three taking third and one receiving a fourth place medal.

First-place finishers for Boonville were Peyton Hahn at 6-and-under, 70 pounds, Ethan Gunderson at 8-and-under, 60 pounds, Lane West at 8-and-under, 80 pounds, Greyson Mesik at 8-and-under, 100 pounds, Charlie Pumel at 10-and-under, 85 pounds and Klayton Anderson at 12-and-under, 90 pounds.
Hahn won by two pins over Emmory Crum of Mexico. Gunderson, meanwhile, won by two pins over Gunnar Roberts of Moberly and Beau Gordon of the Jays.
