The Prairie Home boys and girls fifth and sixth grade basketball teams defeated Pilot Grove last night by the scores of 39-12 and 25-14, respectively.


The Prairie Home boys and girls fifth and sixth grade basketball teams defeated Pilot Grove last night by the scores of 39-12 and 25-14, respectively.

The Prairie Home boys never trailed in the game against Pilot Grove and led 23-5 at the half and 33-5 after three quarters of play.

Wyatt Borghardt had 16 points and Creed Flood 10 for Prairie Home.

For Pilot Grove, who was playing its first game of the season, Anderson Twenter had five points, one assist and one steal. Brandon Kamphefner chipped in two points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal while Garrett Streit added two points, one rebound and one steal, Cole Mize with two points and one rebound, Austin Kollmeyer with one point and three rebounds, Preston Shephard with five rebounds and four steals and Tyler Lopez with three steals and one rebound.

As for the Prairie Home girls, they led Pilot Grove 12-6 at the half and then outscored the Lady Tigers 13-8 in the final-two periods.

Rachel Distler tallied 23 points for Prairie Home.

For Pilot Grove, Reagan Walker had six points, four steals and one assist.

Kirstie Schupp finished the game with two points, four rebounds and one assist while Sasha Moore added two points and two rebounds, Kelsey Caine with two points, one rebound and one steal, Kasey Watring with two points, Cathlynn Hardt with three steals, one rebound and one assist and Isabella Roth with two rebounds and one steal.
