The St. Joseph Pilot Grove girls seventh and eighth grade basketball team edged St. Andrews of Tipton 30-28 last night in the St. Andrew of Tipton Tournament.


The St. Joseph Pilot Grove girls seventh and eighth grade basketball team edged St. Andrews of Tipton 30-28 last night in the St. Andrew of Tipton Tournament.

Kerigan Wessing finished the game with a double-double for the Lady Cougars with 17 points and 10 rebounds. She also had six steals, two blocked shots and one assist.

Whitney Reynolds chipped in five points, three steals and two assists while Kennedy Gerling added four points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal, Jenna Gerke with two points and two rebounds, Marissa Day with two points one rebound and one steal and Makenzie Twenter with four steals, one rebound, one assist and one blocked shot.

St. Andrews was led by Angie Petree with 14 points.

St. Joseph Pilot Grove coach Todd Wessing said the girls haven’t played basketball since December 16 and had already faced St. Andrews twice this season while finishing on the losing end.
