The Mid-Mo Fusion girls eighth grade basketball team took home the championship in the Mid-Mo Fusion Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 18 by beating the Warcats from Linn 39-22. After trailing for all of the first half with a score at halftime of 20-15, the Fusion girls came together as a team and went to work. In the second half, Fusion went on a run to outscore the Warcats 24-2 keeping the full court pressure on the Warcats, holding them scoreless in the fourth quarter. Katelyn Drummond was awarded the tournament MVP for her effort in all three games on the day. Mid-Mo Fusion girls, 20-9 overall, will finish the season at the Show-Me-State games in Columbia.
