The New Franklin girls’ basketball team captured the championship in the Class 2 District 7 Tournament on Saturday by beating top-seeded Salisbury 59-52. The Lady Bulldogs, 20-8 on the season, will play 27-1 Tipton in the sectional round of the state playoffs on Tuesday, February 28th at Jeff City High School, starting at 6 p.m. The Lady Cardinals beat Sweet Springs with Malta Bend 91-24 for the Class 1 District 8 title Saturday at Tipton High School.
