Pilot Grove senior Connor Rhorer recently signed a baseball letter of intent with Kansas Weslyan out of Salina, Kansas on Wednesday, December 7. On hand for the signing were (left to right) Star Rhorer, Connor Rhorer and Chris Rhorer. Kansas Weslyan head coach Bill Neal and pitching coach Tyler Huffstickler also attended the signing. Rhorer, a two-year starter for the Tigers after transferring from Boonville, hit .395 in the fall for the Tigers with 17 hits in 43 at-bats with 14 singles, two doubles, one home run, nine RBIs and 10 runs scored. The senior standout also finished 3-0 on the mound with an ERA of 2.435 with 39 strikeouts in 23 innings while giving up 10 runs-eight earned-on 17 hits and 10 walks. In the spring of 2022, Rhorer hit .425 with 31 hits in 73 at bats with 15 singles, 12 doubles, four home runs, 26 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He was also 3-3 on the mound with an ERA of 5.680 with 64 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings while giving up 34 runs-33 earned-on 39 hits and 23 walks. (Submitted photo)
