Salisbury rallies past New Franklin 5-2

For four innings on Monday, the New Franklin Lady Bulldogs softball team looked to be well on its way to knocking off the Salisbury Panthers while leading by a score of 1-0.

But then it happened. In the fifth inning, Salisbury rallied back with four runs to go up 4-1 and then plated another run in the sixth to win the game by a score of 5-2.

Freshman Kalani Pihana took the loss on the mound for New Franklin.

Aly Hundley went 2-for-3 in the game for New Franklin with two singles and one RBI.  Kalani Pihana added a double and one RBI while Amanda Cook and Valerie Dobson each had one single.

Salisbury also won the JV game by a score of 10-4.

Emily Hendrix took the loss on the mound for New Franklin by giving up seven runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five.

Abi Prewitt homered and drove in four runs for the Lady Bulldogs while Nicole Reimer and Lauren Burnett each had one single.

Harrisburg (BB) 15

The Harrisburg Bulldogs baseball team outscored New Franklin 6-2 in the first inning and never looked back for a 15-2 victory Monday night at Harrisburg.

New Franklin opened the game with two runs in the top-half of the first but was outscored 15-0 for the rest of the game to suffer the loss.

Travis Crowley took the loss on the mound for New Franklin by giving up six runs on three hits and three walks in 1/3 inning.

Ethan Shipp had the only extra base hit in the game for New Franklin with a two-run home run in the first. Nate Brown and Tyler Hull, meanwhile, finished the game with one single.

Harrisburg also won the JV game against New Franklin by a score of 10-9.

New Franklin led Harrisburg 9-0 after 2 1/2 but then surrendered 10 runs in the bottom-half of the third to suffer the loss.

Adam Harris took the loss on the mound for New Franklin by surrendering 10 runs (six earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out five.

Matt Anderton went 2-for-2 in the game for New Franklin with two singles. Austin Rohlfing finished the game with a double and two RBIs while Alex Holem, Austin Baker and Jacob Woodbury added one single and one RBI each and Adam Harris and Austin Wetrich each with one single.

Glasgow (SB) 10

The Prairie Home Lady Panthers softball team out-hit Glasgow 13-10, however, a 9-2 deficit after five was just too much to overcome in a 10-6 loss Monday night at Glasgow.

The Lady Panthers, dropping to 2-5 on the season, trailed Glasgow 10-3 after six before rallying back with three runs in the top-half of the seventh to cut the lead to four.

Taylor Zey took the loss on the mound for Prairie Home by giving up 10 runs on seven hits and seven walks while striking out two.

Kohlie Stock led the hitting attack for Prairie Home with three singles and one RBI. Jessie Kennedy was 2-for-4 with a single, double and one RBI, while Katlynn Watson added two singles and one RBI, Kristynn Watson also with two singles, Amber Frank with one single and one RBI and Taylor Zey and Megan Morton each with one single.

Glasgow (BB) 24

Dillon Yung went 4-for-4 with a three-run home run and six RBIs, leading the Glasgow Yellowjackets baseball team past Prairie Home Monday night at Glasgow.

Prairie Home, dropping to 0-2 on the season, opened the game with one run in the top-half of the first but was outscored 24-0 for the rest of the game to suffer the loss.

Tyler Sanders, 1-1 on the season, picked up the win on the mound for Glasgow by giving up just one walk and striking out eight batters in three innings. Young also struck out two batters in relief.

Sanders also went 2-for-3 at the plate while scoring three runs and driving in three. Nathan Fuemmeler and Austin Stockhorst each had four hits for Glasgow while Nick Boggs and Mitchell Littrell added two hits each and scored three runs.

For Prairie Home, Jordan Thiessen took the loss by giving up nine runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out three. Nathan Small then came in and pitched one inning in relief and issued 15 runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out three.

Trevor Huth homered and singled in the game for Prairie Home while Tyler Loesing finished the game with one single.
