Despite a triple play by Potter Transport in the sixth inning last night in Junior Babe Ruth at Twillman Field in Harley Park, CARSTAR was still too much down the stretch while prevailing by a score of 11-3.

While the win improved CARSTAR’s record to 6-1 overall, the loss pretty much dropped Potter Transport out of contention at 4-3.

As for the nightcap, A&W out-hit and out-played Kentucky Fried Chicken in every phase of the game to win 10-1.

Dyllan Crowley picked up the win on the mound for CARSTAR while Kyle VanderLinden took the loss for Potter Transport.

In seven innings, Crowley struck out 11 batters and gave up three runs on three hits and four walks. VanderLinden, meanwhile, pitched 3 1/3 innings for Potter and allowed eight runs on five hits and four walks while striking out five. Three other pitchers threw in the game for Potter Transport: Harrison Weathers for 2/3 inning, Ethan Weathers for 2 innings and Gavin Hall for one inning.

CARSTAR also out-hit Potter 8-3, with Mitchell Hackman collecting a single, a double and four RBIs.

For Potter, Jacob Rahmer doubled while Aron Widel had a single and one RBI and Nathan Hoff with one single.

In the nightcap, A&W broke out the bats early against KFC while pushing across two runs in the first on one walk and RBI-doubles each by Zach Huckabey and Grant Davis.
Meanwhile, after holding KFC scoreless in the second, A&W came back and tacked on another run in the bottom-half of the inning on one walk and a RBI-single by D.L. Green.

Of course A&W still had plenty of hits and runs left for the rest of the game. After sending across another run in the bottom-half of the third on two walks, one error and a single by Jeffery Jackson, A&W came back and tacked on two more runs in the fourth on one walk, a RBI by Zach Huckabey and a RBI-triple by Andrew Krumm to make it 6-0.

Then, in the top-half of the fifth, KFC scored its only run of the ballgame with one run on two walks and a RBI-double by Jeremy Davis.

Unfortunately for KFC, they would get no closer in the ballgame as A&W plated four more runs in the fifth on three walks, one error and a RBI-double by Grant Davis  for the victory.

Keith Poindexter picked up the win on the mound for A&W, while Michael Trigg took the loss for KFC.

A&W also finished the game with seven hits, with Grant Davis collecting two doubles and two RBIs.

For KFC, who dropped to 1-5 on the season, Jeremy Davis had a RBI-double while Michael Luscombe and Michael Trigg each had one single.
