Boonville’s Varsity Traveling Team picked up its first sweep of the season last night at Twillman Field in Harley park by beating Kirksville by the scores of 5-2 and 10-0.
While out-hitting Kirksville 15-7 in both games, Boonville also led from start to finish. The only downside on the night was the defense, who had three errors in the first game and two in the second.
As for the opening game, Boonville jumped out to stay against Kirksville while pushing across three runs in the bottom-half of the first on one walk, one error, a double by LaTavius Shelby and a two-RBI double by Rhett Quinlan.
