The BHS Sports Complex will have a new look for the 2009 fall season with a new track and turf. ATG Sports Industries, Inc. has been on the project for approximately 50 days. Don Bolinger, ATG President of Construction Services, said the turf field will be completed by Saturday, August 1st. As for the all-weather track, he said they will start pouring the asphalt next week and then depending on cure time hope to have the structural spray down by the time of the first football game on Friday, August 28th.

Fifty days into the project with a new track and turf at the BHS Sports Complex, ATG President of Construction Services Don Bolinger said everything seems to be right on schedule except for the weather.

The Boonville R-I School Board approved the project by a vote of 6-1 for a new track and turf on April 29th for $987,400. The track and turf project began the very next day after high school graduation in May.

The following is an interview with Bolinger on Tuesday at the BHS Sports Complex.
Q: 50 days into the construction of a new track and turf, how is the project going?
A: Right now we are right on schedule to where we want to be. We are working on the turf right now and should be completed by August 1. We will be paving the track next week and need about 14 days for the track surface to cure. The concrete work is coming along just fine, we hope to be done with that by the end of this week. We plan to be done with the concrete sidewalk around the outside and then we will start on the field events next week such as the pole vault, long jump, triple jump and high jump while we are paving the track.
