Rage places third in MAYB National Tourney

The Missouri Rage eighth grade girls’ basketball team recently concluded their season with a third-place finish at the MAYB National Tournament in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The Missouri Rage eighth grade girls’ basketball team recently concluded their season with a third-place finish at the MAYB National Tournament in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The team went 7-1 in the tournament, with wins over the Arkansas Mystics, Oklahoma Dream Team, and the South Texas Eagles in pool play.

They followed that by beating the New Mexico 4 Corner Spears, Kansas Hoop Service, and North Texas Blaze to reach the Final Four. After losing the semifinal game to the St Louis Rockets, the team won the third-place game by defeating the Oklahoma Lady Magic. The Rage finished the season at 32-2 with tournament wins in the Show-me State Games, Troy, Ozark, Branson, and Springdale, Arkansas. Team members include Monique Towson and Dakota Newton from Jefferson City; Alyson and Sara Jones from Taos; Lee Ann Polowy from Wardsville; Jasmyne Boggs from New Franklin; and Morgan Bestgen, Sydney Deeken and Kelsey Roush from California. The team is coached by Jim and Caitlin Deeken.
