Boonville Athletic Director Chris Shikles makes history at Boonville High School by sweeping the field for the first time.
Rhiannon Bolinger, director of marketing of ATG Sports Industries, Inc., said Shikles wanted to be the very first to try out the new field groomer Thursday night at the BHS Sports Complex. Bolinger said the groomer is designed to sweep trash and debris from the field into the catcher and then all the rubber that collects in the catcher falls back through a screen onto the field.
“The groomer is lightweight and pulls behind a gator or golf cart and is very easy to use,” Bolinger said. “After RAMTURF is installed, the groomer is used to clear the field of loose fibers.” On Saturday, August 22, the Boonville Pirate Booster Club will host a whole hog barbecue for everyone to attend. Don Bolinger, with ATG Sports, along with Rhiannon Bolinger, are looking forward to joining the public for the event. “We feel honored to be part of the Boonville Sports Complex project of 2009 and add to the history of this facility,” Bolinger said. “Every school and project we complete has its own story. We plan to bring other school districts and committees to see your beautiful complex for years to come.”
