The Boonville Lady Pirates softball team could get used to playing in the Lady Pirate Lead-Off Classic.
For the third year in a row, the Lady Pirates walked away with the championship and for the second year in a row Boonville beat Wright City for the title by a score of 7-2.
The Lady Pirates, 5-1 on the season, opened the tournament on Saturday at Rolling Hills park with a 11-1 win over California in five innings. Then, after beating Sedalia Smith-Cotton 6-2 in the semifinal round, Boonville came back and jumped all over Wright City in the championship game or the victory.
As for the New Franklin Lady Bulldogs softball team, they finished right where they were seeded by beating California in the seventh-place game 9-7.
