Avery Reardon and Jacob McNamara each doubled as Boone County Bank defeated Excel 5-2 in Midget League action Saturday at Kemper park.

Although Excel won the hitting battle 4-3, Boone County Bank jumped out to stay by pushing across four runs in the third on six walks and a three-RBI double by Avery Reardon. Then, after holding Excel scoreless in its half of the third and fourth, BCB came back and tacked on another run in the top-half of the fifth on three walks and a RBI-double by Jacob McNamara to go up by a score of 5-0. However, in the bottom-half of the fifth, Excel rallied back with two runs on two walks and singles each by Josh Chrisman, Dylan Watson and Kyle Chrisman to closeout the scoring.

Kellen Barnes, who pitched three innings in relief of starter Dakota Bishop, picked up the win on the mound for BCB while Dayton Thoma took the loss for Excel.
