LSE Hawks 8th grade beat Mexico, 39-29

The LSE boys eighth grade basketball team picked up its first win of the 2009 season last night on the road by beating the Mexico Bulldogs by a score of 39-29.


The Hawks, improving to 1-2 on the season, trailed Mexico 15-12 at the half before rallying back with a 27-14 scoring edge in the second half for the victory.


LSE coach Terry Luster said the boys had very good balanced scoring and executed very well in the second half. “Hopefully, we are starting to turn the corner and continue to play better,” Luster said.
 

The Mexico boys seventh grade basketball team outscored LSE 30-11 in the first-two periods and never looked back, beating the Hawks last night at Mexico by a score of 63-33.


LSE, dropping to 1-3 on the season, trailed Mexico 14-3 after one, 30-11 at the half and 49-21 after three quarters of play. The Bulldogs also outscored LSE 14-12 in the final period.


LSE coach Roger Stone said Mexico was bigger and quicker and they ran their transition game to perfection.
