Under sunny skies and warm temperatures, the Second Annual Relay for Life drew a total of 46 runners and walkers over the weekend while raising a little over $500 for the American Cancer Society.
“We almost doubled our participants from last year,” stated even organizer Tina Smith. “Last year we had 27 and this year we had 46. I feel we did very well and had an awesome turnout for such a hot day. We hope everyone will come out again next year for this great cause.”
While starting and finishing at Thespian Hall, Max Mahler of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Lindie Adair of Boonville crossed the finish line first in the 5K run portion of the event. Mahler had the best time overall in 23 minutes and 43 seconds while Adair captured first in the female division in 27 minutes and 37 seconds.
