Lady Yellowjackets win 39-15 behind the 15-point performance by Paula Daniels

Glasgow freshman Reid Littrell had 11 points and three rebounds, and teammate Tyler Sanders added nine points as the Yellowjackets defeated Braymer last night at Glasgow by a score of 46-34.


The Yellowjackets, 15-3 overall, outscored Braymer in each of the four quarters of play and led 8-7 after one, 21-14 at the half and 34-23 after three quarters of play. Meanwhile, in the final period, Glasgow held a 12-11 scoring edge to win by 12.


Senior Ben Meyer finished the game with eight points and 14 rebounds for Glasgow.
Braymer was led by John Haley with 12 points.

The Glasgow girls evened its season record to 9-9 by turning back the Braymer Bobcats last night at Glasgow.


The Lady Yellowjackets opened the game with a 17-2 first-half lead against Braymer and then outscored the Bobcats 22-13 in the second half for the victory.


Paula Daniels led the scoring attack in the game for Glasgow with 15 points while Kayla Boss tossed in 11. Boss also grabbed 13 rebounds while Danielle Fuemmeler added 10 boards. Daniels also led the team with six steals and five assists.


For Braymer, Jacie O’Dell had six points.


Sturgeon (G) 57
New Franklin 47
The Sturgeon girls did something that few teams ever do against the New Franklin Lady Bulldogs last night in CAC action at New Franklin.


For the third time this season, the Sturgeon girls defeated New Franklin by a score of 57-47.
The Lady Bulldogs, dropping to 13-5 overall and 5-2 in the CAC, led Sturgeon 15-12 at the end of the first quarter only to have the visiting team rally back with a 17-14 scoring edge in the second to tie the game at 29-all. Sturgeon never trailed after that while outscoring New Franklin 28-18 in the final-two periods for the victory.


Krissy Arends led four players in double figures for Sturgeon with 15.


Kacie Holtkamp and Katie Spilman chipped in 13 points each while Mallory Embree added 11 points.


For New Franklin, senior Abby Kircher finished the game with a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. She also had three steals and three assists.


Sydney Lee chipped in 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal while Kelsea McClellan added 10 points and two rebounds, Courtney Reimer with eight points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals and Sam Kircher with four points, four steals, three rebounds and one assist.

The Sturgeon boys basketball team lived up to its No. 2 ranking in Class 2 last night by beating the New Franklin Bulldogs by a score of 59-27.


Sturgeon outscored New Franklin in three out of the four quarters of play and led 16-4 after one, 29-10 at the half and 50-20 after three quarters of plays. Meanwhile, in the final period, Sturgeon all but sealed the victory by outscoring the Bulldogs 9-7.


Dominic Johnson had the game-high for Sturgeon with 21 points.


For New Franklin, who dropped to 5-14 on the season, Kris Woods finished the game with seven.
Nate Brown chipped in six points while Graham Powers and Travis Crowley added five points each and Ethan Shipp with four.
