The Ss. Peter & Paul girls volleyball team had a great ending to the season Thursday night at home against the Marshall Owls.
While closing out the season at 16-6-1 overall, the Lady Warriors defeated Marshall in two straight sets 25-20 and 23-17.
Ss. Peter & Paul coach Dina Herzog said this group of girls won their eighth grade parent night with style. “Although the season had its ups and downs, they finished the season working together,” Herzog said. “We ended up 16-6-1 and I’m proud of their efforts.”
Abby Fuemmeler led the Lady Warriors with 11 assists along with 10 service points with five aces, seven kills and two digs.
Madison Smith finished the match with 10 kills, five digs and three service points with four aces while Zoey Lang added six service points with two aces, four digs and two kills, Addie Hubach with four service points and two digs, Katelyn Smith with three kills, Kylee Turner with three digs, Grace Williams with three digs, Jordyn Fuemmeler with two digs and one ace, Alison Eichelberger with one service point and Allison Drummond with one dig.
In the B-team match, Ss. Peter & Paul fell in three sets against Marshall 25-16, 21-25 and 16-18.
Herzog said the girls didn’t play with the energy that they have in the game previously. “This is not the way to end our season, but the girls improved and got better with the season,” Herzog stated. “I look forward to see what they do next year. This was a great bunch of girls to coach.”
Alison Eichelberger had 10 service points with 10 aces and three kills to lead the Lady Warriors B-team.
Addy Nichols finished the match with 12 kills, five service points with two aces and one dig while Ava Esser added seven assists, four service points with one ace, two kills and one dig, Bridgette Lutz with four kills, two service points with one ace and one assist, Allison Drummond with three kills and two service points with two aces, Bailey Atkinson with seven assists and Kelli Young with one service point.
