The Ss. Peter & Paul volleyball team fell at home Monday night against Gentry in three sets by the scores of 25-23, 14-25 and 14-25.
While the loss dropped the Lady Warriors to 14-6-1 on the season, head coach Dina Herzog said the girls played a team that had a lot of depth. “We played with them,” Herzog said. “Two weeks ago we weren’t playing good volleyball but tonight we played well. We fought hard and did some things correctly. I’ll take this loss if it makes us better.”
Abby Fuemmeler led the Lady Warriors with eight digs along with eight assists and three kills.
Madison Smith finished the match 10 digs along with nine kills while Addie Hubach added nine digs along with four aces, Kylee Turner with six assists, four aces and one dig, Jordyn Fuemmeler with nine digs and one ace, Zoey Lang with seven digs, two kills and one ace, Katelyn Smith with three kills and Alison Eichelberger with one dig.
In the B-team match, Gentry defeated Ss. Peter & Paul in three sets 25-7, 13-25 and 3-15.
Herzog said the girls played well the first game. “We were talking and serving,” Herzog said. “The next two games we played their A-team, which was very good. We had trouble serving and passing.”
Alison Eichelberger had nine service points with nine aces along with one assist.
Allison Drummond finished the match with seven service points with two aces and two kills while Bailey Atkinson added nine assists, Bridgette Lutz with four kills, one dig, one block, one assist and one service point with one ace, Ava Esser with three service points with three aces, one assist and one dig and Addy Nichols with six kills and one ace.
