The Bunceton Lady Dragons volleyball team swept the Columbia Independent Lady Lions in two straight sets Friday night in Bunceton by the scores of 25-21 and 26-24.
Bunceton coach Casandra Goyer said the girls played really well and were really moving around the court.
“We did have a couple of moments where lack of communication got us, but we recovered well,” Goyer said.
Reagan Triebsch led the Lady Dragons with 17 passes along with nine sets, four service points with four aces, two blocks, one hit and one tip.
Cara Bishop finished the match with 10 passes along with seven service points with four aces and five hits. Autumn Bishop had 12 passes along with six hits, three service points with one ace, two sets and one block while Amaris Vaca added seven service points with two aces and seven passes, Taylyn Heilman with seven passes, three sets, one service point, one hit and one tip, Madelynn Myers with five passes, two service points, two hits and one set, Bella Vaca with six passes, two sets and one service point, Emily Breece with four passes and Haylee Rose with two passes.
After Monday’s match on the road against Lincoln, the Bunceton Lady Dragons volleyball team will return home for its final match of the regular season on Wednesday against the Smithton Tigers starting at 6 p.m.
Note: The Lady Dragons volleyball team will compete in the Class 1 District 12 Tournament in Otterville.
Teams competing in the tournament along with Bunceton are Calvary Lutheran, Columbia Independent, Eugene, MSD, Otterville and Russellville.
