The Ss. Peter & Paul girls volleyball team opened the 2018 season in convincing fashion Monday night by beating Southern Boone in two straight 25-17 and 25-7.
Ss. Peter & Paul coach Dina Herzog said this was a great first win of the season for the girls. “Our goal was to pass well and not let any balls touch the floor,” Herzog said. “We accomplished that. Grace Williams passes on target during serve receive and Abby Fuemmeler assisted our hitters. Kylee Turner also served very well.
Kylee Turner led the Lady Warriors with 14 service points with nine aces along with three assists and three kills.
Abby Fuemmeler finished the match with eight assists along with six service points with six aces and one kill. Madison Smith had eight service points with six aces along with four digs and one kill while Grace Williams added five service points with two aces and one dig,  Katelyn Smith with two aces, two kills and one dig, Addie Hubach with two service points with one ace and two digs and Zoey Lang with three aces.
In the B-team match, Ss. Peter & Paul fell in two straight against Southern Boone 13-25 and 14-25.
