The New Franklin Lady Bulldogs softball team had a tough night at home on Tuesday against Northeast of Cairo by losing to the Bearcats 15-2.
The Lady Bulldogs, dropping to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the CAC, trailed Cairo by just four (8-4) after four complete innings but was outscored 7-1 over the next-three innings.
New Franklin coach Ross Dowell said his team played flat coming off the three day weekend.
“We put the ball in play against a really good pitcher and they made all the plays behind her,” Dowell said. “We had too many walks again, a lot with two outs which then led to big innings for Cairo. We’ll need to work hard at practice and get ready for Boonville on Thursday.”
