Boonville 12U players Addison Newell and Preslee Sunderland picked up some hardware after competing in the Babe Ruth World Series at Jensen Beach in Florida.
While the Boonville 12U All-Stars finished fourth overall in the tournament at 8-4, Boonville Babe Ruth Softball Administrator and Missouri State Commissioner Kathy Howard said Newell received the Gold Glove Award for her play during the Babe Ruth World Series. As for Preslee Sunderland, Howard said the Fayette native was named to the Babe Ruth All World Series Team.
Boonville’s 12U softball team also had several players receive Players of the Game Award. Howard said the Award, which was called the Ron Tellefsen Player of the Game, went to Abby Fuemmeler, Marci Lammers, Megan Lewis, Preslee Sunderland, Skylar Sunderland, Cora Thompson, Le’Asia Bruce, Amera Wright and Addison Newell.
The Boonville 12U All-Stars finished 3-0 in pool play and 5-4 in bracket play.
In the Stars and Stripes  standings, which determined seedings for bracket play, East Side, Wilmington, Winter Park Wildcats and Boonville also finished in a four-way tie at 3-0. Patterson and Mount Olive Marauders were each 2-1, followed by Jeffersontown All-Stars at 2-2, Rockville, Los Altos, Dare County and Berkshire Force each at 1-2, TCAA Wildcats and Bonkid China each at 0-3 and Ellensburg All-Stars at 0-4.
Patterson All-Stars won the championship in the 12U Division by beating Jeffersontown All-Stars 3-2. Meanwhile, in the third place game, Winter Park Wildcats defeated Boonville 4-0.
As for the Boonville 8U All-Stars, they finished 2-6 overall in the Babe Ruth World Series by beating Bonkid China twice in pool play and bracket play.
Players receiving the Ron Tellefsen Player of the Game Award for Boonville were Paige Vroman, Kinsey Biesemeyer, Jaden Ronnfeldt, Kinlei Ruffel, Emma Pfeiffer, Greycen Syferd and Avery Schrick.
The Boonville 8U All-Stars finished 1-3 in both pool and bracket play.
In Pool Play in the Stars Division, Germantown finished 4-0, Oviedo All-Stars 2-1, St. Charles Parish All-Stars 1-3 and Boonville All-Stars 1-3. Meanwhile, in the Stripes Division, Fern Creek finished 3-0, Manassas Cavalry 2-1, Mount Washington 1-2 and Bonkid China 0-4.
Manassas Cavalry captured the championship in the 8U Division by beating Oviedo All-Stars 10-3. Meanwhile, in the third place game, Mount Washington defeated Germantown All-Stars 8-2.
