Some would say the golf was just as good as the  weather during the annual Heritage Golf Tournament Friday at Hail Ridge Golf Club in Boonville.
With a total of 15 teams of four golfers each making up the tournament, the team of Zach Smith, Philip Rapp, Kyle Kluck and Joe Holtzclaw captured first overall in the 18 hole scramble format by shooting a 17-under par 54.
The team of Shane Lowe, Jacob Rapp and Jeff Brush finished second in Championship flight with a score of 56 while the team of Steve Smith, Doug Smith, Scott Whitney and Josh Weber placed third overall with a score of 57.
In A flight, the team of Zach Ruffel, Nick Sandbothe, Jake Novings and Cody McFatrich finished first in that flight with a 10 under par 60.
Dave Espy, Greg Silvey, Brad Russell and Charlie Burks also finished A flight with a score of 60 but had to settle for second while the team of Dean Reagan, Darrin Reagan, Mike Riehn and Steve Ruffel placed third with a score of 64.
Hail Ridge Golf Club Superintendent Josh Black said it was a great day and everybody had a blast. “Last year we had 10 teams and this year we had 15 so I expect growth,” Black said.
