A-Bow-K and Boonville Daily News both had a common goal Tuesday night on the next to last night in Cal Ripken Minor at the COCOBA ballfield.
First and foremost, A-Bow-K and BDN wanted to finish the regular season on a winning note. But in the way of doing so, they first had to get by Central Realty and Bradley Automotive.
And while both teams put up a good fight, they were no match in the end as A-Bow-K upended Central Realty 24-9 while Boonville Daily News closed out the season with a perfect record of 15-0 by beating Bradley Automotive 7-5.
Of course there was never a doubt between A-Bow-K and Central Realty. Although Central Realty opened the game with two runs in the top half of the first, they were no match after that as A-Bow-K answered and then some with 11 runs in the bottom half of the inning to go up 11-2.
But even then Central Realty kept the game close for 1/2 inning by exploding for seven runs in the second to cut the lead to two at 11-9. However it was all A-Bow-K after that with 13 runs in the bottom half of the second to win by the mercy rule.
Aiden Schueler was the winning pitcher in the game for A-Bow-K, who finished at 6-8, while Gabe Romero took the loss for Central Realty, who dropped to 3-11.  Schueler started the game and pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on one hit and three walks while striking out two. Chase Chamberlain then came in and pitched 1/3 inning in relief and allowed six runs on one hit and four walks while striking out one batter. Then, to finish the game, Kailen Vaca pitched 1 1/3 innings and struck out three batters.
For Central Realty, Romero pitched part of the first and gave up four runs on three walks. Cash Leonard then came in and pitched 1/3 inning and allowed seven runs on three hits and five walks while striking out one. Meanwhile, after Logan Conz pitched 1 1/3 innings and issued 10 runs on four hits and six walks while striking out three batters, Nathan Bean came in and pitched part of an inning and yielded three runs on one hit and four walks. Dylann Clark then closed out the game by pitching 1/3 inning and giving up one walk while striking out one batter.
A-Bow-K also finished the game with eight hits, with Kailen Vaca going 2-for-2 with two singles and four RBIs. Dylan Kosky finished the game with two singles and two RBIs while Aiden Schueler added one single and three RBIs, Reece Townlain and Kaleb Arnold each with one single and two RBIs, Kaden Thacker one single and one RBI, Chase Chamberlain two RBIs and Aaydin Zimmerman with one RBI.
For Central Realty, Cash Leonard tripled and drove in two runs while Dylann Clark added one single and Logan Conz and Gabe Romero each with one RBI.
In the nightcap, Bradley Automotive took the early lead against Boonville Daily News after pushing across two runs in the top half of the first.
However over the next 4 1/2 innings, Boonville Daily News would dominate the game by plating three runs in the bottom half of the first, three again in the fourth and one in the fifth to make it 7-2. Meanwhile, in the top half of the sixth, Bradley Automotive made it interesting by tacking on three more runs to cut the lead back to two.
Darrin Leonard was the winning pitcher in the game for BDN while Lyle Christy recorded the save. Leonard started the game and pitched 2 2/3innings and struck out eight batters while giving up two runs on one hit and four walks. Brooks Poulsen then came in and pitched 2 1/3 innings and struck out four batters while issuing two hits and one walk. Then, to closeout the game, Christy pitched one inning and allowed three runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three batters.
For Bradley Automotive, Jailyn Patel started the game and pitched the first four innings and gave up six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out nine batters. Then, to finish the game, Payton Oeth pitched one inning and surrendered one run on two hits while striking out one.
Boonville Daily News also out-hit Bradley Automotive 8-5, with  Darrin Leonard and Brooks Poulsen collecting two singles each.
Lyle Christy finished the game with one triple and one RBI while Jackson Shelton also tripled. Shawn Beach-Reasons added one double while Brylan Carter had one single and Haden Oliver with one RBI.
For Bradley Automotive, who closed out the season at 9-6, Baylor Jackson went 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBIs. Payton Oeth had one triple and one RBI  while Jailyn Patel and Donovin Atkins added one single.
