It turns out that Boonville Daily News won the game after all last Thursday against Central Realty in Cal Ripken Minor.
While leading 7-0 after three before the storms canceled the rest of the game, it was later determined that Boonville Daily News had played enough innings to count as a win.
Needless to say, the game was a lot closer than the final score as Boonville Daily News led only 1-0 after one and 2-0 after two before exploding for five runs in the third to pull away.
Shawn Beach-Reasons was declared the winning pitcher in the game for Boonville Daily News, who improved to 12-0 on the season, while Cash Leonard took the loss for Central Realty, who dropped to 2-9. Reasons pitched all three innings and struck out seven batters while giving up just two hits and two walks. Leonard, meanwhile, pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up five runs on two hits and five walks while striking out six batters. Ethan Bean then came in and pitched 1/3 inning in relief and allowed two runs on one hit and three walks while striking out one batter.
Bryson Welch led the hitting attack in the game for Boonville Daily News with one single and two RBIs while Lyle Christy and Jackson Shelton added one single and one RBI each.
For Central Realty, Ethan Bean and Nathan Bean each had one single.
