Walmart and Boonville Abstract each posted wins by putting up five runs in Babe Ruth 8U softball Tuesday night at Rolling Hills park and Lions park.
With both teams playing just one game at their respective sites, Walmart scored early and often against Citizen’s Community Bank for a 5-3 victory. As for Boonville Abstract, they also scored early in a 5-0 win over Rick Ball.
Walmart, improving to 3-7-1 on the season, opened the game with two runs in the top half of the first and then sent one run across in the second and two again in the fourth. As for the scoring in the game for CCB, they scored two in the bottom half of the third and one again in the fifth.
Kynna Knapheide led the hitting attack in the game for Walmart with three singles and four RBIs. Carmen Mendez also had three hits in the game, all of which went for singles, while Addyson Goetze added two singles, Kylee Fizer one single and one RBI and Penny Hoff and Audrianna Simms each with one single.
For CCB, who dropped to 1-9 on the season, Brooklyn Alberts had three singles and two RBIs while Carly Robb added two singles and one RBI, Morgan Baker, Kinlei Ruffel and Denaja Perry each with two singles and Olivia Hamilton and Lizzie Traub each with one single.
At Lions park, Boonville Abstract led Rick Ball from the first inning on and pushed across two runs in the first, one in the third and two in the fourth for the victory.
Avery Haynes paced all hitters in the game for Boonville Abstract, 10-1 on the season, with one single and one double. Karrman Leonard and Brooklyn Hicks added two singles each while Emma Pfeiffer contributed one double and Presley DeVillier, Kendal Hodges and Avery Schnek with one single apiece.
For Rick Ball, who dropped to 4-6, Jaden Ronnfeldt and Emma Franklin each had two singles while Charlotte Rohrbach, Reece Ball and Lily Gordon each with one single.
