Chipley and Company evened its season record to 2-2 by edging Shelter Insurance 8-7 in Instructional League play Monday night at New Franklin.
Chipley and Company led 3-2 after one and 5-4 after three before matching Shelter Insurance with three runs in the fifth.
Mason McGruder led the hitting attack in the game for Chipley and Company with two singles and one double.
Elyas Brown finished the game with one single and one triple while Korinna Chitwood, Graysen Richerson, Kyndal Schnell, Levi Humphrey and Braylan Mize each with two singles and Ryder Hopkins and Carter Ivy with one single each.
For Shelter Insurance, who dropped to 3-1, Cooper Hull had two singles and two triples. Noah Hackman finished the game with one double and two triples while Belle Chitwood added one single and one triple, Reid Hackman two singles and Payton Nichols, Kassidy Felten and Addison Forbis each with one single.
Edwards Jones 22, GKC-CPA’s 10
Elijah Woods and Quincy Dorson each had four hits with one single, two doubles and one triple, and Mia Dobson added two singles, one double and one home run to lead Edward Jones past GKC-CPA’s in Instructional League play at New Franklin.
Edward Jones never trailed in the game against GKC-CPA’s and led 5-4 after one, 7-4 after two, 13-4 after three and 15-6 after four. Meanwhile, in the fifth, Edward Jones outscored GKC-CPA’s 7-4.
Crew Wilmsmeyer also finished the game with four hits, all of which went for singles. Colten Schlotzhauer, Haden Davis and Ava Smith each had three singles while Ryder Dorson and Mason Palmer added two hits each and Audry Dobson and Sofia Crowley with one single apiece.
For GKC-CPA’s, who dropped to 0-3-1, Brian Bockting had one single and two triples.
Josie Chitwood finished the game with three singles while Casten Jennings added one single and one double, Hadley Caszatt, Gabriel Cotton, Jonah Bishop and Colton Long each with two singles and Hope Thornburg and Jack Lyons with one single each.

Exchange Bank scored at least one run in every inning to beat Jennings Premium Meats in Instructional League play Monday at New Franklin.
Exchange Bank, improving to 3-1 on the season, led off the game with four runs in the top half of the first and then sent two runs across in the second, five again in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Jennings Premium Meats, who dropped to 1-2-1 on the season, opened the game with two runs in the first and then plated two more runs in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Kayden Young had one single, two doubles and one triple to lead all hitters for Exchange Bank. David Swearengen finished the game with two singles and two doubles while Hudson Shaw added four singles, Crew Wilmsmeyer one single and one triple, Alison Flick, Mia Dobson and Audry Dobson each with two singles and Zoey Pinet and Ellie Wells with one single apiece.
For Jennings Premium Meats, who dropped to 1-2-1, Eder Oser had three singles.
Dylan Miller finished the game with one single and one home run while Easton Gerding and Caylub Cox added one single and one triple each, Koby Schaefer with one single and one double, Conner Boley and Lukas Cook each with two singles and Charleigh Collyott, Katelynn Cook and Thomas Neal each with one single.

Shelter Insurance, 3-0 on the season, trailed Exchange Bank 8-5 after 3 1/2 before rallying back with four runs in the bottom half of the fourth and six again in the fifth for the win.
Addison Forbis finished the game with two singles and one double for Shelter Insurance while Reid Hackman and Payton Nichols added three singles each, Cooper Hull one single and one double, Hayden Pomajzl and Addison Hampton each with two singles and Kassidy Felten with one single.
For Exchange Bank, who dropped to 2-1, Kayden Young had two singles and two doubles. David Swearengen contributed one double, one triple and one home run while Alison Flick, Logan Perry and Ellie Wells added two singles each and Hudson Shaw, Brooklyn Bonecutter and Kallie Burnett with one single apiece.

Jennings Premium Meats reeled off 15 unanswered runs in the first five innings to beat Edward Jones in Instructional League play at New Franklin.
Jennings Premium Meats, 1-1-1 on the season, opened the game with five runs in the top half of the first and then sent six runs across in the second and four again in the fifth to go up 15-0. Then, after Edward Jones scored three runs in the bottom half of the fifth, Jennings Premium Meats came back and put up two more in the sixth.
Easton Gerding led the hitting attack in the game for Jennings Premium Meats with two singles and two triples.
Caylub Cox finished the game with three singles and one triple while Conner Boley added one single and two doubles, Dylan Miller two singles and one triple, Eden Oser and Charleigh Collyott each with three singles, Katelynn Cook and Koby Schaefer each with one single and one double, Lukas Cook, Thomas Neal and Violet Washburn with one single each.
